Jane's
Adoption Testimonial
Kristina is doing fabulous. She
is just such a blessing to us. We just can't imagine
our family without her. And she is doing fabulous
in school which is a major blessing. After
having foster kids with IEP's and MFE's and
all the tutoring, etc., her achievements in
school are such a nice surprise. The only thing
she's behind in is reading and that won't be
for long. She has a tutor at school and began
reading about 3 weeks ago. She is such a smarty
pants. I don't think one drop of the information
in her paperwork from the previous family was accurate.
She remembers everything! (such a woman).
She loves gymnastics and is learning to swim at
the YMCA. We absolutely had to sign her up for
swimming lessons right away. When I took her to
our city pool right after we got her she just absolutely
loved the water but couldn't swim at all. But that
didn't stop her. She's a maniac in the water. She
would literally swim away from me, go under and
just wait for me to bring her up out of the water...
and then do it again and again and again. You think
after swallowing a couple gallons of water she
would get the idea... But she's doing great in
swimming now. She is definitely the first to volunteer
to do anything the coach asks of the group.
We are just so thrilled with our entire experience.
We had just about given up on the idea that we
would ever be able to adopt an older child. The
foster care system can be so difficult to work
with when you and your kids get new case workers
every other month (or no caseworker).
I'll let you know when we are coming down next.
I think our next visit has to be down there, instead
of a home visit, but I'm not sure.
Take care and have a great weekend.
Jane
