Nicholas was born in the USA on 8/10/96. He has been in the family home since September 1997 but has been placed at the Ranch for Kids for the last 9 months. He had three foster home placements prior to being placed with his parents. Within the last two months he was moved to a “foster care” family where he lives with about 8 children ranging in age of 2-16. Nick has done well in this setting. There have been no incidents of inappropriate behavior or acting out. Nicholas is physically healthy. He has been diagnosed with ADHD and RAD. By report, he also has Fetal Alcohol Syndrome. He is off all medications and doing very well.
Nicholas interacts well with peers, adults and older children but tends to be jealous of his younger siblings. Nick has some math delays as described on his latest IEP. Nick’s strengths are that he is a very good reader and loves to read. He is a bit of a loner and seems to retreat into his books rather than socialize. Nick can be a hard worker and cooperates fully with the adults and does his chores. He has no issues with hygiene or cleanliness of his personal living space.
Nicholas enjoys science projects, video games, and bike riding. He is a quiet child who
would do best in a family with no children or older children so that he doesn’t feel as though he is competing for the family’s love or attention
