Justin was born in the USA on 7-19-01 and placed with his adoptive family at 8 days old. Reportedly, he was exposed to drugs and alcohol pre-natally.

He is currently diagnosed with possible Bipolar Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder and Mild Reactive Attachment Disorder. Currently he takes Lithium, Clonidine and Hydroxyzine to help stabilize his behaviors. Justin has a history of being physically and verbally aggressive although this has improved since his discharge from residential. He responds best to a highly structured home where the expectations are clear and consistent. Generally, Justin is a smart, sweet, cuddly and loving child.

Justin is currently in the 1st grade and is in a self-contained classroom that helps him maintain his behavior. He has an IEP that addresses behavioral and self-esteem goals. He has had an excellent year thus far receiving all A’s in his classes.

Justin is very loving and gentle with younger children. He loves puzzles, Star Wars, and swimming. He recently started taking horseback riding lessons, which has helped in reducing his level of anxiety. Justin would do best with a family that can give him a lot of attention as his self-esteem can be very low at times. He needs a high level of security where he can continue to learn positive ways to express his emotions.
