Dewayne's Foster Care Adoption Story

My name is Dewayne and I am sixteen years old. I have been in foster care for about four years and trust me it’s been rough. I want to take some time to tell you about what I have been through. I have been from place to place, home to home, family to family and that’s not a good thing. It all started when I was about twelve years old. I lived with my grandmother at the time along with my two sisters Cierra and Patrice. Our mom was on drugs and our grandmother was very ill so the only choice the county had was to put us in foster care. I’m now searching for an adoptive family that loves me and my sister, that doesn’t fight a lot and doesn’t smoke. A family that does exciting things such as enjoys sports, spending time together, and listens to each other. I have problems, but they are for reasons. I don’t just get mad and take it out on people. I continue to do what I am told and eventually my anger disappears. I want to say thank you for taking your time to read my letter.
